For your violent crimes squad, it's a good idea to have your lead of the group have some driving, lockpicking and stealth. Some other good traits to have for your non-violent cash cows and for some utility are programming (hack for cash), first aid (you'll need it), and tailoring (for armor/disguises). That way you'll level up your lockpicking but don't get busted for trespassing. There's a trick to getting lockpicking up, which is one of the more useful skills - start in some of the lower wealth housing, then attempt to pick locks, but don't enter anywhere. For recruiting, you can spend money on props, but it's wise not to unless you have the cash to spare and/or really want the convert for their skills. Recruit lawyers, do the same with them, then get some henchmen with gun skills, lockpicking, street smarts, etc. You might have to get some "juice"/cred by committing crimes at first to level up your recruiting cap. There's guides available on how to answer the beginning questions to get the stats you'd prefer. Try to have your main with a decent charisma stat as well as persuasion and law skills. It's a good idea to layer your criminal enterprise behind high persuasion lawyers for recruiting and trial defense reasons.
